As a showband musician, you need to be an all-rounder. Think of it as a studio musician working on an ocean. If this sounds interesting to you, there are some skills that you need to possess; excellent sight-reading, improvisation, as well as being familiar with different music styles (rock, pop, funk, jazz…). The showband performs almost every night. There is a lot of diversity where all your skills will come in handy, like playing in a production show on a big theater stage, accompanying a guest entertainer in one of the lounges, or doing a jazz improvisation in a more private setting. Drums

Drummers must have excellent reading skills, as well as strong time-keeping skills. We expect you to groove over a wide range of genres. Rock, pop, jazz, funk, Latin, and many more. If you are looking for a place to groove every night on a stage with some of the finest musicians in the world. This could be your gig.

Guitar

Guitarists must have excellent sight-reading skills and strong solo skills over a wide variety of genres. Showband musicians are required to play so many different styles of music. If you've got chops to shred over any rock, blues, funk tunes, and also could build chord solos over a Jazz standard, book an audition!

Keyboard

Keyboardists must have excellent reading skills, the ability to improvise in a jazz and blues setting, and the versatility to comp over many styles. Also, If you can play solo piano that's a plus! If you are wanting to play your solo Jazz piano on stage while the gig requires you to be part of amazing broadway style shows. book an audition.

Bass

Bassists must have strong reading skills and the versatility to groove over many styles of music including broadway musical, pop, jazz, funk, Latin, and others. We expect you to drive the band. If you like playing along to Jamiroquai records and then listening to some Jaco Pastorius, this gig's probably for you.

Sax

Saxophonists must have excellent reading skills, we expect you to have awareness of dynamics, phrasing, and intonation. It is important to be able to solo over jazz tunes. We require and expect our Saxophonist to double well on flute and clarinet. If you like to show off your multi-instrumental skills we would love to have you on our team.

Trumpet

Trumpet players must have excellent reading skills and a keen awareness of dynamics, phrasing, and intonation. You also must either have a great range of screaming lead chops or well-rounded jazz improv skills. If you have both, that's a plus. If you are looking for a place to test your diversity as a trumpet player, book an audition!

Trombone

Trombonists must have excellent reading skills, a keen awareness of dynamics, phrasing, and intonation, and strong jazz improv skills. We love having a strong player who can hold tight on the low register of the horn section. If you like to perform a big band set while also being part of a funky R&B band, this is the gig for you!

Singer

Vocalists & lead singers are the faces of the show. We expect you to engage the crowd and put on a real show for the guests. It is also required to be able to perform a wide variety of styles, from rock to soul to jazz and you must know a large repertoire of popular songs. We also expect singers to have some experience reading music, this is because it is important for learning new songs quickly if needed.
